Woman Says Her Friend Used Her Netflix Account for Years — Then Changed the Password and Locked Her Out

A Reddit user shared that what started as a casual favor between friends turned into something she didn’t expect years later. In the post, she said she had shared her Netflix account with a friend a long time ago, back when it didn’t feel like a big deal. They were close, and it was just one of those things that didn’t seem worth overthinking.

According to her post, the arrangement stayed that way for a long time. Her friend continued using the account, and she never made an issue out of it. She said it had basically become normal at that point, and she didn’t feel like she needed to revisit it or set any rules around it.

That changed when she suddenly couldn’t log in one day. In the post, she said she realized the password had been changed, and when she reached out to her friend, she was told the account had been updated and she no longer had access. She said there wasn’t much explanation beyond that, and the whole thing felt abrupt.

She wrote that what bothered her wasn’t just losing access to the account, but how it was handled. She said she had originally been the one paying for it, and at no point had her friend asked if anything was changing. Instead, she found out only after she was already locked out.

The post didn’t describe a huge argument after that, but it was clear the situation shifted how she saw the friendship. What had been a small, easy favor years earlier ended with her feeling like something had been taken without any conversation at all.
